On Saturday, August 9, the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) invites you to experience that world firsthand with a free guided night walk at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. From 7:00 to 9:00 PM, this immersive and family-friendly event offers a rare opportunity to explore the Mojave desert’s natural side under the stars.

What to Expect

This isn’t your average nature walk. Guided by local wildlife experts, you’ll learn about:

• Bats: Discover how these essential, often misunderstood mammals use echolocation to hunt and navigate in the dark.

Location & Parking

Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is located in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, just north of US-95 near Durango Drive. The entrance to the park is at 9200 Tule Springs Road. Once inside the park, follow the posted signs or ask park staff for directions to the event’s designated meeting area.

Parking is available near the event check-in. Keep an eye out for NDOW event signage as you arrive.

This is a free event, but seating is limited, and an RSVP is required to secure your spot. Drinks will be available for purchase.
